The Great 48 – Covered by Grace, Powered by Purpose, and Living Unapologetically

It's My Birthday - The Great 48!
It's My Birthday - The Great 48 has begun!

Today, I celebrate another year around the sun — my 48th birthday. And let me tell you, this chapter already feels different. It’s not just a number, it’s a mindset. It’s a declaration. It’s a celebration of everything I’ve walked through, everything I’ve become, and everything that’s still ahead of me.

Covered by Grace

If there’s one thing these 48 years have taught me, it’s that grace covers it all. Grace covered me in the times I didn’t know how I was going to make it. Grace carried me through heartbreaks, setbacks, and disappointments. Grace gave me second chances when I didn’t deserve them, and strength when I thought I had nothing left to give.

There were moments when life felt too heavy — when motherhood, business, bills, relationships, or just the weight of being a woman in this world threatened to break me. But grace whispered, “You will not break. You will bend, you will grow, and you will rise again.”

And rise I did. Not always gracefully, not always perfectly, but always faithfully. That’s why I smile a little harder at 48. Because I know I am still here, not because of luck or chance, but because grace covered me.

Powered by Purpose

At 48, I walk differently. I speak differently. I move differently. Why? Because I know who I am and what I’m here to do. Purpose is my fuel.

I’ve learned that purpose isn’t about chasing applause or validation. It’s about answering the call on your life — unapologetically. It’s about pouring into others, building legacies, and refusing to play small when you were made for more.

I know what it feels like to operate in survival mode, just trying to keep your head above water. But there’s something powerful that happens when you shift from surviving to living in purpose. The things that once drained you start to fall away, and the things that give life become your focus.

Every business I’ve built, every project I’ve touched, every person I’ve coached — it’s all been tied to my deeper “why.” And that “why” gets stronger every year. I know I was put here to create, to lead, to uplift, and to build spaces for women (especially single moms) to heal, grow, and thrive. That’s purpose.

And here’s the truth — purpose doesn’t retire. It doesn’t age out. It evolves. And at 48, mine is only just beginning to bloom in ways I couldn’t even imagine in my younger years.

Living Unapologetically

I’m not dimming my light anymore. I’m not shrinking to make other people comfortable. I’m not explaining my decisions to those who were never meant to understand my vision.

There was a time when I worried too much about what people thought — about being liked, about being “enough,” about fitting into boxes that were never built for me in the first place. But 48 is the age of freedom. It’s the age of saying no without guilt, yes without hesitation, and goodbye without bitterness.

I’ve lost people along the way, but I’ve also gained peace. And that’s the trade I’ll take every time. Because living unapologetically doesn’t mean you’re reckless — it means you are intentional. Intentional about protecting your joy, your health, your dreams, and your time.

And let me tell you — living unapologetically feels good. It feels like walking in your favorite heels, head held high, not because life is perfect, but because you are perfectly aligned with who you were created to be.

Lessons from 48 Years

Birthdays always make me reflect. Here are a few lessons that have shaped me and might inspire someone else walking their own journey:

  • Protect your peace like it’s your paycheck. Without peace, nothing else flows.

  • You don’t have to be everything to everybody. Choose your people wisely and love them deeply.

  • Healing is not a destination — it’s a daily practice. Be patient with yourself.

  • Your dreams don’t have an expiration date. You’re never too old, too late, or too far gone.

  • Success without fulfillment is still empty. Build a life you actually love, not just one that looks good on the outside.

  • Faith is your superpower. It will carry you when strength runs out.

A Toast to The Great 48

So, here’s to this new chapter — a year of abundance, peace, love, health, and opportunities bigger than I can imagine. Here’s to breaking ceilings, walking through new doors, and shining brighter than ever before.

The Great 48 isn’t just a birthday theme. It’s a lifestyle. Covered by grace. Powered by purpose. Living unapologetically.

And if you’re reading this, I hope it inspires you to do the same — no matter your age, no matter your stage.

Cheers to 48. Cheers to the best yet to come.

Cheers to 48!
